“My interests are in the photographic translation of space, time, and light. The forms exist in an unknown space and time; as Eli Wiesel wrote in Night, “Every question possessed a power that was lost in the answer.” I photograph composed still lifes to exemplify that the subject matter only survives in the work. To understand how a camera manipulates space, I illustrate ambiguous and structured environments. Through these images arise the paradox of space on a flat surface to examine the photographs as they relate in an installation. Merging photography with processes of sculpture, drawing, and painting invites the viewer to question the synthesis of the images.”
